· Nikao Fishing Adventures is a registered KZN tourism establishment, through the Zulu Kingdom which is the KZN arm of the Department of Environment and Tourism. · The vessel Nikao Fishing Adventures is registered for Commercial Charter Fishing with the Department of Transport. · The vessel Nikao Fishing Adventures has a current Local General Safety Certificate issued by the South African Maritime Authority (SAMSA), which incorporates the license to operate as a Commercial Charter Vessel on the Kwa Zulu Natal and Eastern Cape Coastline and South African inland waters and estuaries. · The vessel Nikao Fishing Adventures is licensed as a category B commercial vessel for day and night operations. Category B vessels can go up to 40 Nautical Miles (+/-76Km/46Miles) from shore. · The vessel Nikao Fishing Adventures is registered with the National Ports Authority (NPA). · The vessel Nikao Fishing Adventures is registered with KZN Wildlife. · The Vessel Nikao Fishing Adventures is Registered with Msinsi Reserves. · The Skipper/Captain holds a commercial category B Skippers/Captains license for day and night operations, and is qualified to do surf launching. To get these qualifications one has to undergo several stringent theoretical and practical examinations. Category B Skipper’s/Captain’s can go up to 40 Nautical Miles (+/-76Km/46Miles) from shore. · The Skipper/Captain holds a commercial Ferryman’s license for both Durban and Richards Bay Harbours. · The Skipper/Captain is registered with the Field Guides Association of Southern Africa (FGASA). · Nikao Fishing Adventures is a member of the Durban Charter Boat Association These registrations and qualifications are a legal requirement for Charter Boats and Fishing Guides in South Africa. |
