Durban the largest city in the province of Kwa Zulu Natal (KZN), situated on the East Coast of South Africa is home to warm sub tropical waters and a diverse marine life. Here deep sea fishing is good all year round and as the seasons change there is a variety of fish species that can be caught. From September to May we have good Game Fishing with the peak season being in the Summer months, November to March. Reef fishing is generally good all year and the main fishing done in the winter months. Durban is blessed with mostly good weather all year round with hot Summers and warm to mild Winters. Our boat is moored at Wilson’s Wharf situated in the Durban Harbour. At Wilson’s Wharf you will find restaurants, bars, takeaways, shops, toilets and safe free parking. |

Our Deep Sea Trips are for those persons looking for an exclusive charter which offers a customised, modern, safe, fast, clean, comfortable boat, good equipment and personal attention like they do on the large luxury boats but on a smaller more affordable scale. Specialising in 1-4 guests and licensed for a maximum of 6 guests. Women & Children are Welcome. Corporate organisations who want to do team building trips with their staff, entertain important clients or just spoil somebody special then our charter is the option to consider. Our Specialities are Game Fishing, Light Tackle, Artificial Lures and Fly Fishing. All our Charters are Exclusive and Personal. This means that we do not share or mix bookings and that you and your group get to do what you want along with personal attention and guiding. We target Billfish, Game Fish and Reef Fish with various methods like trolling artificial lures, live bait, bait, drop shot, vertical jigging, spinning, plugging and fly fishing. Our boat is well equipped and has all the necessary tackle for the fishing we offer. NOTE: You are required by law to have in your possession a valid fishing license on any deep sea fishing trip. You only require a standard fishing licence which must be in your name and is available at any South African Post Office. You do not require the additional boat fishing permit as only one person on the boat is required to have this and this is held by the skipper. NB: Should you fail to bring this along we will not be held responsible for any fines. |

We offer various deep sea fishing trips and tours in and off Durban to accommodate your requirements. · Harbour Fishing - 3hrs, 5hrs, 8hrs and 12hrs · Backline Fishing - 3hrs, 5hrs, 8hrs and 12hrs · Inshore Fishing - 3hrs, 5hrs, 8hrs and 12hrs · Deep Blue Fishing - 8hrs and 12hrs · Shark Fishing - 8hrs and 12hrs · Big Game Fishing - 8hrs and 12hrs · Marlin Fishing - 8hrs and 12hrs · Harbour Cruise - 3hrs · In-Shore Site Seeing and Nature Cruises - 3hrs and 5hrs · Spear Fishing Trips - 3hrs, 5hrs and 8hrs Harbour, Backline, Inshore and Deep Blue trips are offered both day and night. The boat cannot be equipped with all our tackle to cover all fishing styles as we can only carry a certain amount of equipment on board, and so you need to tell us what you prefer so we can personalise the trip for you. Standard methods of fishing are lure trolling, live bait fishing and bait fishing, please see our specialty fishing options lower down the page Durban Harbour Fishing - See our Estuary Fishing Page Here our specialty is to target the game fish that enter this estuary system using light tackle and artificial lures in the summer months. We also offer bait fishing all year round. Durban Backline Fishing These are trips where we go out to sea and fish just outside the harbour area, light tackle is the best option here as we mostly target the smaller species of fish that inhabit these waters. These trips are fun for the whole family and ideal for young children and are offered for day and night. Durban Inshore Fishing These deep sea trips are operated within a 10-12km radius of the harbour towards Umhlanga on Northern trips and the Bluff on Southern Trips, there is a wide variety of fish to target in these waters and we can use several methods to target these species. These are general fishing trips where we usually start out targeting game fish and then finish off with some reef fishing. You can choose either light tackle or standard tackle options for these trips, and you can also choose what type of fishing you would like to do. These trips are offered for day and night. Durban Deep Blue Fishing Like the inshore fishing trips these are general type fishing trips where we start out targeting game fish and finish doing some reef fishing. On Deep Blue trips we travel much further to deeper fishing grounds or further up or down the coast than we would on the Inshore trips. Deep Blue trips are also ideal for night trips in the winter fishing for larger bottom fish like Geelbek and Kob. Standard tackle is recommended here. Durban Shark Fishing These trips are specifically to target large sharks, here we have heavy tackle on board. Durban Big Game Fishing These fishing trips are specifically for targeting the big game fish that can be found in the deeper waters off Durban. These trips are only offered in the day leaving early in the morning, in the summer months. You have a choice of standard or heavy tackle on these trips. Species that can be encountered are Sailfish, Wahoo, Dorado, Yellowfin Tuna, Other Tuna Species, Marlin, Prodigal Son and other open water pelagic species. Durban Marlin Fishing These trips are to specifically target the Marlin species that frequent our coast line in the summer months which are Black Marlin, Blue Marlin and Striped Marlin. The boat is then specifically equipped for Marling fishing and trips are limited to 4 persons. Leaving early in the morning we travel out to the deep in search of the Marlin often catching other Big Game species as by catch. Although we offer 8hr trips, the 12hr trips are more suitable due to the long distance’s travelled. Many of our Marlin clients will book several days with us to hunt these prized Game Fish where we return to shore after each day. Durban Harbour Cruise These are our non fishing trips where we cruise around the Durban Harbour. Bring your meal with you and picnic on our boat whilst relaxing and soaking in what nature has to offer. Durban In-Shore Site Seeing and Nature Cruises These are our non fishing trips where we go out to sea and cruise along the inshore waters either North or South of Durban harbour. On these trips you can view the coast line and have a chance see Whales, Dolphins, Turtles, Sea Birds and other marine life as we travel. Bring your meal with you and picnic on our boat whilst relaxing and soaking in what nature has to offer. Durban Spear Fishing Trips These trips are only offered to Experienced Spear Fisherman and is purely a service to transport you to the reefs and stay around to watch you and then bring you back with your catch. We do not guide you under the water, teach you spear fishing or supply any equipment. |

In addition to the conventional forms if fishing like Lure Trolling, Live Bait Fishing and Bait Fishing we also offer specialty fishing which you need to confirm with your booing so it can be prepared and put on the boat. —————— LIGHT TACKLE OPTIONS Light Tackle Reef Fishing This is a fun way to target a wide variety of reef fish that are found on our shallow reefs, with this light tackle fishing we usually catch lots of fish even though most are small they are great fun to catch especially because of the quantities and every no and then you get a large one that keeps you busy for a while. The tackle used is Penn 7ft MH Pinpoint Tournament rods with Penn 3000-4000 size spinning reels spooled with 10l-20lb braid. Ideal for our Backline and In-shore trips. Light Tackle Spinning & Drop Shot This is a really fun way to target smaller game fish species using hard plastic lures, soft plastic lures on lead jig heads, buck tail jigs, metal spoons and jigs. The tackle used is Penn 7ft MH Pinpoint Tournament rods with Penn 3000-4000 size spinning reels spooled with 10l-20lb braid. Landing a big fish on this tackle is an experience you will never forget. Ideal for our Backline and In-shore trips. Light Tackle Trolling and Strip Bait Fishing Targeting smaller Gamefish species and even the occasional large Gamefish on our light tackle trolling equipment is a sporting as Game Fishing can get, even smaller fish will get your adrenalin pumping. The tackle used here is light Elbe 5’6” Ski Pro rods with Abu Garcia 6500C4 Reels spooled with 12-15lb monofilament line. Ideal for our Backline and In-shore trips. Note: You can choose the light tackle options, spinning, reef fishing and trolling on the same trip. These are Mike’s personal favorite methods to fish and ideal for the ladies and children. —————— OTHER SPECIALTY OPTIONS Vertical Jigging This is a very effective method to get larger game and reef fish, it is hard work but the rewards can really be worth it. Vertical Jigging can be chosen as a stand alone method or you can use it together with some Gamefish trolling on our standard tackle. Our Jigging Sticks are 150gr 6’6” Evolution GT’s paired with Penn 6000-8000 Reels spooled with 45-60lb Braid. This can be selected with our In-Shore and Deep Blue trips Saltwater Fly Fishing This is a highly specialised method of fishing and you need to know how to cast before you can select this option. We do not supply Saltwater Fly Fishing tackle as these the rods are personal items and so you must bring your own. Saltwater Fly Fishing is the Ultimate in Sport Fishing. Fly Fishing can be selected for our Backline, Inshore and Deep Blue trips as a stand alone method only. Please note that only 1 and sometimes 2 persons can cast at a time. Our boat is equipped with a large bow rail and casting platform on the bow specifically for Fly Fishing. |
